Press:
“Daykisser’s music isn’t pretentious, combative, heavy-handed or apathetic; it’s easy. The straightforward songwriting of frontman Jesse Wilcox is reminiscent of the late ‘90s and early aughts, an unfortunately now-nostalgic era of music.” — Sam Prager, Memphis Current

Artist Bio:
Raised in small-town Central Texas and based in Nashville, Tennessee, Joelton Mayfield crafts hard-hitting Alt-Country with a DIY Indie-Rock ethic. Mayfield’s distinct take on the genre blends Wilco-esque musicality with the dynamics and melodic edge of fourth-wave emo to create a sound all his own. This musical innovation underscores Mayfield’s deft lyricism, which draws a Southern Gothic literary sensibility and deals intimately with the tensions embedded in family, religion, masculinity, and love in the American South.

“This batch of five rootsy, Jeff Tweedy-influenced rock songs from the 22-year-old, gentle-voiced songsmith is perfect for any occasion in which thinking, feeling or singing at the top of your lungs is involved.” — Jacqueline Ziesloft, Nashville Scene on “I Hope You Make It – EP”
